I was trying to make a game that had platforms in the sky that had to be jumped to (i.e. if you fall you die). It took a long time to figure out exactly how to do that, but it is pretty close to my vision.
I consider it an unfinished experiment, but am happy for any feedback at this stage.
It is only one level at this point, but the rest of the game would stick with the platform concept and add in greater challenges.
I also consider my game a work-in-progress, but I did enjoy making it and hope to expand on it in the future. Designing levels to utilize all the components available in Sploder (ground, interactive objects, secondary ground, etc.) turned out to be quite complicated. I revisited the original Mario Bros and looked at some other retro Sploder games to see how they handled the environment.
Alright guys I have got some good games for you! I only made two and I have saved them for the sploderfest quest. I have a retro arcade and a classic shooter game. I don't have any time to work on any games. Feel free to give feedback and tips on them if you want. On the classic shooter just kill all the badguys and on the retro arcade just get through the levels and find the treasure. Have fun! Game on!
