Please introduce yourself, your experience with Google Apps, and to what extent you use them at your school.

I'm the Technology Coordinator at Antioch High School and the creator of their 3-year-old Media/Tech Academy. I'm a Google Certified Teacher & Education Trainer and have implemented Google Apps for our academy, which is sort of a "school within a school." We currently have 150 9th graders, 130 10th graders, and 130 Juniors all using Google Apps and 3DGL to do their work and communication. I introduced Apps without my district's blessing (or their conscious impediment, actually) and have grand goals of slowly switching our entire school and then district over to them.

I'm not so much a fan of the specific tools as I am of what we as educators can do with them. I love learning with adults and can't wait to see what things that we can come up with here!

I'm Jared Speight and I teach 7th Grade Social Studies at Northwest Middle School in Greensboro, NC. Our school has a 1:1 initiative which uses a cloud from Google to share documents. However, we don't use Hangouts or any of the other aps. I'm here to learn more about all of the other tools that are available through Google and how I can incorporate them into 3DGL.

I am a middle school science teacher and SoCal Region Future City Competition Chair. I just finished a grueling week creating and working with Google forms. There's got to be an easier way than my experience. I'm here to learn and share what I have learned through trial and error.

Hi fellow learners. I'm a professor of geography at New Mexico State University and the Coordinator of the New Mexico Geographic Alliance (http://nmgeoed.org), a National Geographic funded project designed to support and enhance K-12 geography education throughout the state. This is part of a 54 alliance network all across the nation. I've used Google Maps, Google Earth, Google Forms, Google Docs, and Google Spreadsheets for several years and am looking at how to effectively leverage these tools both for my college classes and via my website as a tool for K-12 geography educators (and those trying to incorporate geography into their other courses). I'm eligible for a Google Earth Pro account but need to figure out how to build that into my alliance.

I'm Caryn Swark and I teach grade 6 homeroom in Lethbridge, Alberta. I am the technology representative for our school and do digital citizenship workshops with each grade as well as tech support with individual teachers. Our district is just starting to look at Google apps for education, although I personally have used most (gmail, drive, hangouts, etc).

Howdy,

I'm an "Academically or Intellectually Gifted" teacher in North Carolina. I work at two elementary schools in Wake County. (That's where our capital, Raleigh, is.) At one of my schools I am the only AIG teacher (It's a 60% position.) and I have only 22 students who I see weekly. At my other school I an additional "40%" AIG teacher and I work with 80 students weekly.

At my smaller school I have one desktop computer which usually takes a whole class period to load. At the other I can check out a laptop cart when it's available. I also have 3 iPads that are available to me every day. (One is mine, one is issued by one of my schools, and the third is issued by the AIG department.) So, I lack technology.

Our county has Google Apps, but the elementary students have not been issued accounts yet. They won't have g-mail (and neither do the teachers). I'm excited about learning more about how to use these tools with my students.

Hello everyone. Looks like I'm late to the GAFE party, but better late than never. I teach combined classes of computer applications/computer science and robotic/engineering to middle school students grades 6-8. I like to consider myself to be very Google savvy, but I hope to learn more. I regularly use Google Classroom.

Hi - So I've just joined 3D-GameLab and I'm excited to find a teacher camp for GAFE. I teach science for MYP and Physics Diploma in Dubai, and my department relies very heavily on GAFE. We have a school wide BYOD policy and my department also have access to 18 Chromebooks for students who for whatever reason are unable to supply their own device. We use Google Sites for student e-portfolio's that contain embedded access to both teacher folders for the unit materials and student folders for easy access to student work. We do not use Google Classroom as we rely on ManageBac as a school. I'm looking forward to finding out more about GAFE.

I'm Peter Knowles and I teach at Columbia High School in Washington State. I've let my 3DGameLab skills go fallow for a few months now, but as the school year winds down, I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and re-learn what I need to know to keep building my own quests and groups over the summer. I've worked a lot with some Google Apps, less with others. But they're always changing and there's always more to learn as I move forward. Looking forward to it.
